Mrs. Ellen Baird, 84, resident of rural Woodbury county died Tuesday night at a Sioux City hospital following an illness of a few hours.

Mrs. Baird, born October 14, 1874 in Benton county, Ia., was married to Warren H. Baird January 2, 1895 at Newhall, Ia. They moved to Woodbury county in 1898. She had lived near Moville since that time.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Johnson, Mrs. Ruby Weaver, and Mrs. Ruth Babcock, all of near Moville; two sons, Vern F. and Wilbur W., both near Moville; 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Her husband, one son, Glen, a daughter, Leora Todd, and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist church in Climbing Hill. Rev. V.R. Funderburk will officiate.

Burial will be in Climbing Hill cemetery. The McCulloch funeral home in Moville is in charge of arrangements.
