Funeral services held Tuesday for Mrs. B. Harrison

Funeral services for Mrs. Ben Harrison of rural Moville were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 1971 at the Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church in Sioux City, Rev. D.E. Cannaday, pastor of the church, officiated and burial was made in Banner Township cemetery at Lawton under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home.

Mrs. E.C. VanVleet, as organist, accompanied Mrs. Ben Pratt who sang two selections, ‘How Great Thou Art’ and ‘Beyond the Sunset’.

Casketbearers wer Messrs. Russell Daniel, Tom Porsch, Darrell Porsch, Carl Harrison, Darrel Harrison and Don Harrison.

Mrs. Ben Harrison, 74, of rural Moville, died Saturday night, September 18, 1971 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Harrison, the former Clara Porsch, was born April 8, 1897 near Kingsley, the daughter of Henry Porsch and Rannah Higgday Porsch. She was a graduate of Central high school in Sioux City and later taught school in Plymouth and Woodbury Counties.

She was married to Mr. Harrison on August 24, 1920 at LeMars. The couple resided on a farm near Moville the past 51 years. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the widower; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Lois) Denham of Sioux City; two brothers, Leslie of Kingsley and Lloyd of Sioux City; and a granddaughter, Virginia Foster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Arthur and two sisters, Mrs. E.W. (Ruby) Morrow and Mrs. John M. (Gladys) Daniel.
