Former Moville Resident Dies in California

Clara Elizabeth Baird, 100, of Red Bluff, California, formerly of Moville, died Wednesday, February 2, 1994, at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.

Mrs. Baird was born July 19, 1893 in Moville and had lived in Tehama County, California for six years. She taught school in Westfork Township before moving to California. She had also lived in Southern California.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Baird of Simi Valley; five daughters, Lois Downey of Red Bluff, Marjorie Parker of Independence, Missouri, Margaret Downey of Pleasant Hill, Beverly Blackman of Simi Valley and Merle Olson of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Alma Hennings of Moville; 32 grandchildren and 38 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and five children.

There were no services held at her request. Chapel of the Flowers handled the arrangements.
