Mrs. Gustaf A. Jahn

Mrs. Gustaf A. Jahn, 95, died Tuesday morning at a Sioux City hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a..m. at the United Methodist Church, Moville, with the Rev. Dr. John A. Dowd officiating. Burial in Arlington Township Cemetery at Moville will be under the direction of the McCullock Funeral Home of Moville.

Mrs. Wm. McElrath, as organist, will accompany the soloist, Mrs. Roger Schnaible. Selections are ‘The Old Rugged Cross’ and ‘Beyond the Sunset’.

Casketbearers are Messrs. Gene Bremer, Leslie Engelking, Paul Ludwig, Walter Rumohr, John Tabke and Raymond Wahlberg.

Mrs. Gustaf A. Jahn, 95, died Tuesday morning, July 17, 1973 at a Sioux City hospital.

Mrs. Jahn, the former Christina Madgaline Bremer, daughter of Peter Bremer and Christina Schultz Bremer, was born January 2, 1878 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She came to Sioux City with her parents when she was 8 years old. She married Gustaf A. Jahn on January 19, 1898, at Moville and they lived on a farm south of Moville in the 40’s. Her husband preceded her in death. She has resided at Sunrise Manor for the past year and a half.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Geoff (Lena) Insch of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Ernest (Emma) Haring of Sioux City and Mrs. Lewis (Minnie) Sargent and Mrs. Richard (Amanda) Harmes of Moville; five sons, George of Santa Clara, Calif., Edward of Anthon and Theodore, Alfred and Harry of Moville; one brother John Bremer of Kingsley, Ia. 19 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceeding her in death besides her husband, were two daughters, Miss Elfrieda, Mrs. Wm. H. (Caroline) Hay, a brother, Albert, a sister, Anna, who died in Germany and a great grandson.
