Talbott Services Held Here Friday

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon for Mrs. Geo. Talbott, 60, who died January 1, 1957, after an illness of a year. Services were held in the E.U.B. Church here, with Rev. Ray Thompson of the Grand Meadow U.B. Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Forest Lay, pastor of the local church.

Mrs. M.A. Everhart was at the piano and Mrs. Ben Pratt sang ‘Sunrise Tomorrow’ and ‘Going Home’. Interment was in Arlington cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris and William Drevs, Ernest McCune, Henry Scheelhaase, Irven Barto and Roy Rawson.

Avis Nina Creekmur, daughter of George Van and Sarah Alice Creekmur, was born April 18, 1896, in Grand Meadow township in Cherokee county, Iowa. She passed away in the hospital in Nevada, Iowa.

As a young lady of fifteen she was converted, and later that same year she moved with her parents to Moville, Iowa. She joined the United Brethren here soon after moving to Moville, and to this faith was a loyal member until death.

She was a graduated from the Moville high school with the class of 1914. After this she taught one year.

On November 25, 1915 Miss Creekmur was united in marriage with George Talbott, and to this union were born four children, all of whom survive. The Talbott family resided for many years in this vicinity, during most of that time in the employ of Rob Foster. They were residing in Collins, Iowa, at the time of her death. Rev. Talbott had charge of the United Brethren Church at that place.

Survivors include the widower and four children, Mrs. Donald Jones (Shirley) of Naperville, Ill., Mrs. Clair Sellers (Mildred) of Russell, Iowa, Donald of Akron and Arthur of Sioux City; as well as two sisters, Mrs. Roy Haskill of Long Beach, California, and Mrs. Leonard Countryman of hoenix, Ariona; and two brothers, Roscoe Creekmur of South Gate, California, and Merle, of Moville. There are ten grandchildren, also.
