SIOUX CITY | Lois Barr, 97, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery at Akron, Iowa. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a time of sharing at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Condolences may be left at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Lois Lucille was born June 17, 1918, at Westfield, Iowa, the daughter of Harley and Eula (Mills) Small. She graduated from Akron High School.

On Aug. 7, 1938, Lois married Bruce R. Barr in Elk Point, S.D. Lois and Bruce made their home in Evanston, Ill., for 43 years, returning to Sioux City in 1982. Bruce passed away May 18, 1993.

Lois enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, watching westerns on television, and visiting with family and friends over coffee.

Survivors include her son, Roger Barr and his wife, Leonora Ubod Barr, of Cebu, Philippines; a granddaughter, Barbara Barr and husband George Egbert of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a sister, Laura Jensen and husband Vern of Dallas, Ga.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce; three brothers, Donald, Loren and Harley; and two sisters, Berniece Small and Lola Johnson.

The family requests memorial donations to Hospice of Siouxland, or Noah's Hope Animal Rescue.
