Floyd E. Johnson, 88, of Sioux City, died Sunday, May 27, 2018, at his residence.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Floyd was born in Tripp, S.D., on March 2, 1930, the son of Theodore and Tina (Jelken) Johnson. He attended Tripp Schools. He served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was united in marriage with Delores Allyn on July 1, 1952 in Sioux City. He was a field service mechanic for Missouri Valley Machinery for 27 years and finished his working career working as a mechanic for Crawford County, Iowa for 11 years. The couple lived in Carroll, Iowa for 13 years then moving to Manilla, Iowa for two years, then on to Denison, Iowa for 11 years, returning to Sioux City where they have lived since.

He was a member of Church of All Nations in Sioux City.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; his sons, Ken Johnson and his wife, Deb of Carroll, and Rick Johnson and his wife, Heike of Clarksville, Tenn.; his daughter, Dawn Ortner and her husband, Steve of Danbury, Iowa; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Helen Warner and Shirley Moriston; and a half brother, James Johnson; and a half-sister, JoAnn Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a two sisters, Evelyn and Deloris.
