Roland D. "Rolly" Junck, 85, of Sioux City, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.

Roland Duane "Rolly" Junck, the son of Frank and Marie (Plendl) Junck, was born on May 6, 1933, in Hinton, Iowa. He graduated from Leeds High School. In 1953, Rolly was inducted into the U.S. Army. He served honorably during the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1955.

On June 13, 1953, Rolly was united in marriage with Carol L. Ives in Ft. Smith, Ark. After his discharge, Rolly attended Morningside College, and earned his teaching and accounting degrees. He started and later became CEO of Prince Manufacturing, where his career spanned more than 50 years. During this time, Rolly attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and earned his master's degree in business.

Rolly was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and a past president of the church. He was the past CEO and president of Prince Manufacturing. Rolly was the past president of Kiwanis, a past president of Morningside Country Club, and the Sioux City Chamber. He was also on the board for Security Bank, TegraCorp, St. Luke's, Morningside College, and Western Iowa Tech Community College. He was also a charter member of the Sioux City Explorers.

Rolly received so many awards for his contributions to education, health, WACO, DMC, Prince Hydraulics, Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce, Redeemer Lutheran, Siouxland Sertoma, Community and Rotary Club, St. Luke's Hospital, and Morningside College. He also supported many missionaries and served on many boards.

Rolly is survived by his wife, Carol of Sioux City; daughters, Cathy (Robert) Bradham of New Port Richey, Fla., and Louanne Cownie of Lee's Summit, Mo.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Jim) Swanson of Sioux City; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Ernest Falk; a sister, Geraldine Jackson; a half-brother, Norman Falk; and a niece, Linda Jackson.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church and Siouxland Hospice.

Rolly was a great man who loved the Lord and will be remembered lovingly by so many.
