Judy was born on June 29, 1932, in Sioux City, the daughter of Leo and Hazel (Olson) Pfeister Sr. She graduated from Central High School in 1950. Judy worked as an executive secretary for an optometrist, Dr. Griffin, before starting her career as an executive secretary at Sioux Tools. She worked there for 37 years before retirement.

Judy loved to dance and often attended dances at Shore Acres and the USO Air Base. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and cross-stitch, but her true passion was spending time with her family. Judy was a lifetime member of Whitfield United Methodist Church. While residing at Holy Spirit Retirement Home, Judy took great joy in getting the residents and staff to dance and do the hokey-pokey.

Survivors include her siblings, Leo Pfeister Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., Louis Pfeister of North Platte, Neb., Gary (Nancy) Pfeister of St. Michael, Minn., Charles (Mary Kaye) Pfeister of Sioux Center, Iowa, Leonard Pfeister of North Platte, Linda (Jack) Beam of Sioux City, James (Sue) Pfeister of Sioux City, and Karen (Steve) Carlson of Ames, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Leola Pfeister.

Pallbearers will be Charles Pfeister, Leonard Pfeister, Jack Beam, Steve Carlson, Troy Beam, and Lon Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Pfeister Jr., Louis Pfeister, Gary Pfeister, James Pfeister, and J.C. Pfeister.

The family would like to thank Holy Spirit and staff for their wonderful and compassionate care of Judy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Whitfield United Methodist Church.

Every angel in heaven is now doing the hokey-pokey.
