Robert G. Anderson, 90, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at his daughter's residence surrounded by his family.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mater Dei Parish, Immaculate Conception Worship Site, with the Rev. Daniel Rupp as celebrant. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Robert was born on May 13, 1928, in Platte, S.D., to Gustof and Amelia (Swanz) Anderson. He left Platte at a young age to join the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Shirley (Brueau) Anderson on Oct. 16, 1950. She passed away on Dec. 16, 2002.

Robert married Corleen (Uhl) Anderson on Nov. 4, 2005. She passed away on April 11, 2008.

Over the years, Robert worked at several packing houses in Sioux City. Later in life, he worked at Hy-Vee. Robert also worked as a senior companion and at Siouxland PACE, where he retired in August 2017. He received much satisfaction in helping others and enjoyed socializing with others and using his favorite saying, "Whatever…" He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Robert is survived by daughter, Michele (James) Pullis, McCook Lake, S.D.; son, Jerry Anderson of Sioux City; sister, Delores (Dale) Palmer of Delta, Utah; sister-in-law, Caroline Anderson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and five grandchildren, Travis Kotalik of Sioux City, Jacob (Jodi) Kotalik of Des Moines, Tiffany (Michael) Holbrook of Sergeant Bluff, Jessica (Greg) Jorgenson of Sergeant Bluff and Kelby Kotalik of McCook Lake.

Robert was preceded in death by parents; five brothers, Dale, Gus, Babe, Glenn and Wayne; three sisters, Shirley, Lois and Carol; wives, Shirley and Corleen; a son, Garry Anderson; and grandson, Jason Kotalik.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests memorials be offered to Senior Companions or to PACE in Sioux City.
