Correctionville, Iowa—Theodore Roosevelt “Ted” Schumacher, 90, of Correctionville died Thursday, February 9, 1995 at Colonial Manor in Correctionville.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville with the Rev. DeeAnn Klapp officiating. Burial will be in the Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

He was born July 20, 1904 in Battle Creek, Iowa the son of Hans and Lena (Funderman) Schumacher. He married Iona Mahin February 2, 1924, at Battle Creek. The couple farmed in the Correctionville and Cushing area before moving to Correctionville in 1968.

Mr. Schumacher was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville. He served on the Soil Conservation Board for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Gary and Ann; five daughters, Betty and her husband Stanley Fitch, Colleen Mammen, Kay and her husband John Dorn, Shirley and her husband, Gary Goodburn and Debby and her husband Steve Jantz; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Helen Schumacher.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Iola; a son-in-law, Elmer Mammen; a granddaughter, Sharon Fitch; two grandsons, Mark Susie and Shawn McCrea and 16 brothers and sisters.
