South Sioux City – Raymond Eugene Lounsbury, 44, of South Sioux City died of cancer Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at a South Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Albenesius officiating. Burial will be in Little Sioux Valley Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Lounsbury was born January 11, 1957, in Sioux City, the son of Kenneth R. and Joyce E. (Gill) Lounsbury. He graduated from Lawton-Bronson High School in 1976. He was employed with the Karousel Restaurant before he became ill.
Survivors include his father, Kenneth of Mapleton, Iowa; two sisters, LeaAnn Lounsbury of Auburn, Iowa and Karen and her husband, Robert Jones of Greenville, Michigan, a brother and his wife, John and Maria of South Sioux City; Dr. David Erlbacher, who was more like a brother than his doctor and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His mother preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Jason, Justin and John Lounsbury Jr., Ray Freeman, Bobby Rogers and Mark McGinty.
