LeRoy Florke - 1926 – 1996 Buried Correctionville, Iowa

LeRoy Florke, 70, North Sioux City died Monday, December 30, 1996, at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville, Iowa. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 915 and the American Legion Post 134 of Elk Point, South Dakota and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7690 of North Sioux City. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today, with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Florke was born August 15, 1926. He married Lois Foster in 1948. The couple lived in Correctionville. He served in the military.

Survivors include his wife, four sons, Steve, Stan and his wife Linda, Ron and his wife Pam, and Randy, four daughters, Virginia Waugh, Mary Cantrell, Barb and her husband Steve Terrell and Aleas and her husband Clyde Erie, 26 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Marcella Daily of Reedsport, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and a sister.
