Rev. John Cotter, pastor of the Catholic Church at Walthill, Nebraska, died at a Sioux City hospital Friday night after efforts had been made by physicians to save his life by blood transfusion. He was afflicted with toxanemia. He was 28 years old.
J.R. Adams, house secretary at the Y.M.C.A. and Walter Barrett, one of the dormitory men of the organization, gave blood for the transfusion.
Rev. Father Cotter was born in Ireland and was educated in All Hallows College, in Dublin. He was ordained four years ago and was given charge of the Walthill church.
He is survived by two brothers, both of whom are priests in Denver, Colorado. The body will be sent to Omaha for burial.
