Mrs. Ray C. Burch, Former Resident, Dies in Kansas City Died 1939

Mrs. Ray C. Burch, 49, prominent lodge and church worker when a resident of Sioux City, died in a Kansas City, Missouri hospital Thursday after a brief illness, according to word received by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.J. Dahlin, 1015 Virginia.

Funeral services will be conducted at Kansas City. Then the body will be sent to Sioux City or services Monday. The Nelson-Berger Funeral Home will be in charge.

Mr. and Mrs. Burch moved to Kansas City 10 years ago from here where she had resided since her birth. Mrs. Burch was a past worthy matron of Isis Chapter, Order of the eastern Star, and had been prominent in church activities, serving as president of the Miriam Society of Augustana Lutheran Church, treasurer of the Missionary Society and treasurer of the Confederation of Protestant Church Women. She was a prominent member of the United Lutheran Church of Kansas City and was a member of Augustana Lutheran before leaving Sioux City.

Survivors include her widower; a daughter, Everly Ann; her parents; a sister, Mrs. C. Hjalmar Nelson of Sioux City; two brothers, Adolph and Rudolph Dahlin, both of Sioux City, five nieces and four nephews.

Pallbearers for the services here will be Luther M. Anderson, Fred Anderson, Fred Moline, Henry Nelson, Roy Searing and J.B. Tasker, Carl Norrbom will sing at the funeral.
