John Robert Brown, 88, of Pueblo West, Colo., formerly of Sioux City and Hinton, Iowa, went home to our Lord Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at his son's residence in Sioux City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elkhart, Iowa. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, near Farrar, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Hamilton's Funeral Home on Lyons Street in Des Moines.

John Robert Brown was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Tracy, Minn.

He is survived by his children, John Brown Jr. of Des Moines, Mary (John) Pezzetti of Colorado Springs, Colo., Thomas (Sharon) Brown of Sioux City, Ruth Ann (James) Houston of Camdenton, Mo., and Jeanne (Randy) King of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Ethel; a son, Jerry; an infant daughter, Nancy; and three sisters.

Memorials in his loving memory may be made to the family to be sent to Hospice of Siouxland.
