MOVILLE, Iowa -- Gordon Charles Hunting, 90, of Bella Vista, Ark., formerly of Moville, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bella Vista Community Church, with the Rev. Peter Marshall officiating. Private graveside services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mr. Hunting was born March 26, 1915, in Moville, to Ralph Allen and Rosa (Harm) Hunting Sr. He graduated from Moville Community High School and from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, in 1937 with a bachelors degree in poultry industry.

He married Kathleen "Kay" Kennedy on Oct. 18, 1942.

He was a Eagle Scout and a member 50 plus years of Trial Lodge in Moville, the Consistory and Shrine of the Masonic Order in Sioux City. He was Iowa Turkey Federation director and president in 1953, director of the First Trust and Savings Bank, United Methodist Church board member and chairman of the building committee for the present church building in Moville. He also served as a director on the Moville school board.

He retired in 1979 and the couple moved to Bella Vista, where he was a member of the Community Church.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth Hunting of Topeka, Kan.; a daughter, Susan Hunting of Moville; a grandson, Justin Hunting of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Mary Simson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Martha Lepley of Chesterfield, Mo.; and a brother, Duane Hunting of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 19, 1993; his parents; and two brothers, Harmon and Ralph Hunting Jr., both of Moville.
