Donnie Wayne Derby, 44, of Sioux City, formerly of South Sioux City, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Daniel Wittrock officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Donnie was born May 14, 1961, in Hanford, Calif., the son of Donald D. and Lorraine V. (Koch) Derby. He attended school in South Sioux City. He was employed several years in mechanical refrigeration and was presently employed with Professional Pipe.

He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and enjoyed karaoke and playing pool.

Survivors include two sons, Justin Derby and Duane Pinney, both of Sioux City; a daughter, Chantel Pinney of Sioux City; his mother, Lorraine Derby of South Sioux City; three sisters, Linda and her husband, Louis Post of Lake Elsinore, Calif. and sons, Buddy and Billy Meyers, Connie Kiertzner, daughter, Tiffeny Kiertzner, and her companion, Bob Russell of Hinton, Iowa, and Amy Derby and her son, Levi Derby, of Sioux City; and two grandchildren, Jasmynn and Jaylynn Derby.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers will be Fred and Larry Derby, Terry Millard, Mickey Gamet, James Shank and Bill Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Carmen and Gail Hurley.
