Marilyn A. Udell, 81, of Hinton, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., in Sioux City, with the Rev. Kolleen Queener officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Marilyn Ann, the daughter of William and Nora (Mercuriali) O'Malley, was born on June 23, 1936, in Sioux City. Marilyn started her schooling in Sioux City then went to school in Hawaii while her dad was stationed there. After returning to Sioux City, she finished her senior year at Leeds High School, graduating with the class of 1954. After high school, she worked at IPS.

On Jan. 25, 1957, Marilyn was united in marriage to Glen R. Udell in Sioux City. This union was blessed with two children, Becky and Jeff. The family made their home near Hinton and Marilyn worked part-time at Younker's in Sioux City and co-owned and operated Ken's Delivery Service with her husband until retiring in 1998.

Marilyn was a Farm Bureau member for more than 50 years and served as secretary for the Women's Transportation Club for many years. She was active with the Lions Club and was presented the Melvin Jones Award for her dedicated humanitarian services.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Glen Udell; two children, Becky (Doug) Scheonrock and Jeff Udell; five grandchildren, Jared (Jenny) Schoenrock, Laura Schoenrock, Calvin (Kelli) Schoenrock, Richard Udell and Ryan Udell; five great-grandchildren, Avery, Addison, Kinley, Audrina and Sawyer; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jim (Donna) O'Malley; and two nephews, Kevin O'Malley and Colin O'Malley.
