Roberta M. Cox, 85, of Moville, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at her residence.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Moville, with the Rev. Janet Rieckhoff-Faris officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Moville. Roberta M. Cox was born on May 12, 1932, to Merle Creekmur and Ora LaVanche (Barto) Creekmur. She graduated from Moville High School in 1950. She later took classes at Morningside College.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Cox on Oct. 6, 1951 in El Paso, Texas. They were blessed with three daughters, Margo, Mona and Marla. Roberta and Clifford raised their family in Moville. Roberta worked for Mid-American Energy (IPS) and as an auditor and administrator of CIS group for 23 years.

She was a founding member of the Evangelical Church with many years of service as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent of Sunday School, past president of the Evangelical women’s group, past financial secretary and church treasurer. She was a hospice bereavement volunteer and a member and volunteer of the Moville Senior Center. Roberta was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed camping, card games, board games, Mahjong, dominoes and spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughters, Margo (Brad) Nixon of Kingsley, Iowa, Mona Yanacheak of Moville, and Marla (Kim) Treiber of Moville; six grandchildren, Andrea (Mike) Holder, Doug (Amanda) Chavis, Greg (Krista) Chavis, Molly (Bryan) Canny, Abby (Jeff) Lister and Hannah (David) Jacobson; and 12 great-grandchildren, Kendra, Brendan, JT, Ali, Cecilia, Liliana, Adelina, Corban, Cassidy, Camryn and Callen and baby Lister.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and four sisters.
