Thomas C. Solomon, 58, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, in Houston.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Arrangements in Sioux City are under the direction of Larkin Morningside Funeral Home.

Thomas was born in Sioux City on Aug. 14, 1946, the son of Lawrence J. Solomon and Dorothy (Weigand) Solomon-Garrigan. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School in 1964. He then attended Creighton University. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years, stationed in Germany and Korea.

He married Julie Torgerson on Dec. 27, 1966. They later divorced. He worked in the Middle East with oil companies, then was transferred to Houston 20 years ago.

He was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by two sons and their wives, Curtis and Karelyn and their daughter, Taylor of Seattle, Wash., and Craig and Jodie and their four children, Keaton, Morgan, Carter and Lauren of Sioux City; and three sisters, Anna Marie Solomon and her friend, Danny Lawrence of Los Alamos, N.M., Julie and Dick Young of Sioux City, and Janet and Tom Youngberg of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Joseph Garrigan; an infant brother, Lawrence Solomon Jr.; his grandparents; and his second wife, Sharon.
