Wanda J. McGarr, 81, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018.

Visitation with the family will be 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Road, in Omaha. Arrangements are under the direction of Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler in Omaha. Condolences may be sent online to www.heafeyheafey.com.

Wanda Jean McGarr was born in Sioux City, on Oct. 3, 1936, the daughter of Phyllis Stafford and Olin Gorsett. She graduated from Leeds High School in Sioux City.

She married Herbert Charles McGarr on Sept. 22, 1957. Herbert died on Oct. 31, 2009. She had missed him ever since. She loved gardening and lived for her children and grandchildren. She was a stay-at-home mother who doted on her children and grandchildren her whole life.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sioux City. She loved animals and especially gardening. She also loved "Footprints."

She is survived by two sons, Brian McGarr and Scott McGarr, both of Kansas City, Mo.; four daughters, Teresa Wheelock (Kevin) of Omaha, Alicia Hanson (Jay) of Omaha, Michelle Mann (Scott) of Sioux City, and Niki Rocha (Jamie) of Hospers, Iowa; grandchildren, Valerie, Heather, Michelle, Derek, Noah, Abigail, Emily, Andrew, Tyler, Campbell, Ayla, Elise, Jordyn, Morgan and Kobe; great-grandchildren, Reese and Riley, Evan and Jared; sister-in-law, Sharon Asmussen (Neal); and her siblings, Dick Gorsett, Doug Gorsett, David Gorsett, Bonnie Eyer, Donna Wauhob, Linda Gorsett, Sandra Pallasch and Becky Niven.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dick; and sisters, Bonnie, Donna, and Linda.
