Charlotte was born on Sept. 5, 1934, to William and Fern Taggs, at the home of her grandparents, William and Ella Shundlemire, in Logan, Iowa. While working in Storm Lake, Iowa, she met the love of her life, Carl Ernest Klingborg.

They were married on Jan. 18, 1965, in Pocahontas, Iowa. They moved to Carl’s farm near Quimby, where they were blessed with two boys, James Arnold and Donald Wayne. They continued to farm until 1989, when they retired. They moved to Aurelia in 1996, into a new house that Charlotte designed and decorated.
