Shelli Jane Dawdy, 47, of Lincoln, formerly Sioux City, passed away on March 20, 2018, in Lincoln surrounded by her immediate family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson, S.D. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the church. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City is in charge of arrangements.

Shelli was born November 18, 1970, in Sioux City.

Each day of her 47 short years of life was filled with meaning, purpose and service to others. A voracious reader and lifelong learner, Shelli was known for her intelligence, kindness and genuine interest in others that ensured that she never met a stranger. She always attempted to live according to the idea that the most important thing in life is to search for what is good, true and beautiful.

Until the end, Shelli looked after her family and brought a joy to their lives that is beyond measure. Shelli handled her illness from the beginning with impeccable grace, only further revealing her strength of spirit and character.

Of the many great works that filled her life, we have no doubt that she would most like to be remembered as a loving wife to her husband, Jerry; an incredible mother and teacher of her three children, Nathan, Tarah and Spenser; and a devoted daughter of her heavenly Father.
