Harry Lee Baldwin, 64, of Sioux City died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

There will be no service. There will be no burial. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday, with the family present from 3 to 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Baldwin was born May 9, 1932, in Hummelstown, Pa., the son of John and Mabel Baldwin. He graduated from Hummelstown, Pa. High School on May 6, 1951. He joined the Hummelstown Fire Department in 1948 as a volunteer firefighter and was still a member. He graduated from firefighters school on May 29, 1951. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and the Iowa Air National Guard 185th Fighter Wing in 1956. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1972.

He married JoAnn E. Green on November 9, 1957, in Sioux City. He was employed with Chicago Northwestern Railroad from 1969 to 1974. He graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College landscaping program in May 1977. He was in the landscaping business until retiring due to ill health.

He was a member of Hummelstown Methodist Church. He was a 20 gallon donor at the Siouxland Community Blood Bank. He volunteered as Santa Claus for area nursing homes and hospitals.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Pamela Baldwin, Sandy and her husband Gary Schmith, Kathy Johnson and Jennifer Baldwin all of Sioux City; an adopted son, Rubin Tague; a brother and his wife, Ralph and Anna of Hummelstown; three grandchildren, Richard Miller Jr., Samatha Baldwin and Cassandra Boggs; a brother-in-law, Fritz Yanak of Onawa, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Boggs of Sioux City and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Blanche and Ester and four brothers, Charles, Earl, Elwood and Martin.
