Donald D. DeVries, 28, of Sioux City died Monday, June 16, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital of injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nativity Catholic Church, with Monsignor Michael Sernett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. and a parish scriptural service at 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Mr. DeVries was born January 13, 1969, in Sioux City, the son of Louis and June (McWilliams) DeVries Sr. He was raised in Sergeant Bluff and graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in 1987.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps until 1992.

He was employed as a machinist with Sioux Tools for five years.

Survivors include his parents of Sergeant Bluff, a brother and his wife, Louis Jr., and Deana of Sioux City, a sister, Elena Oslin of Sioux City, his maternal grandparents, Keith and Evelyn McWilliams of Sioux City; two nieces and a nephew.
