Danbury, Iowa—Jerome Kleine, 71, of Ontario, California, formerly of Danbury, died Thursday, June 4, 1998, at the Kaiser Hospital in Hollywood, California.

Services will be in Ontario.

Mr. Kleine was born June 4, 1927, in Danbury, the son of John and Lena Kleine. He resided in Danbury until moving to Ontario in 1960. He was returned from the Ontario-Montclair school district, where he had worked for 30 years.

He was a past Commander of the American Legion Post 112 and was a member of the Elks Club in Ontario.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, a daughter, Lark Wilhelm of Fort Wayne, Indiana, three grandchildren, four sisters, Audrey and her husband, Dean Hilborn of Ontario, Ann Kelcher of Lodi, California, Dorine and her husband Ed Kelcher of Sioux City and Martha Uhl of Omaha, Nebraska and a brother and his wife, Bernard and Tillie Kleine of Ontario.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dolores and a brother, Omer.
