Virginia R. Sathre, 71, of Sioux City died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at her residence.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David W. Fechner officiating. Private graveside services will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sathre was born February 23, 1927, in Sioux City, the daughter of Tommy and Elizabeth (Gallion) Martin. She graduated from Central High School and attended Briar Cliff College.

She married Selmer E. “Sam” Sathre on December 19, 1952, in Sioux City. He died December 21, 1984, in Sioux City. She was employed at Drs. Barnes and Prahl office for over 20 years.

She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Michael A. and Steven L.: three daughters and their husbands, Judy and Jeffrey Boettcher, Barbara and Norman Henry ad Jill and William Young; a brother and his wife, Gene and Ginger Martin, and 10 grandchildren, Abigail, Emily and Addalyn Boettcher, Travis and Maggie Sathre, Benjamin, Samuel and Jacob Young, Donavan Sathre and Roland Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
