Chad Michael Wolf, 50, of Salinas, formerly Sioux City, passed away peacefully from cancer at his home in Salinas, lovingly surrounded by his wife and family on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.

Chad was born on Dec. 18, 1967, in Sioux City, to his parents, Ron and Pat (Claeys) Wolf. He graduated from the University of Houston Honors College with a degree in accounting where we he made lifelong friends with his fraternity brothers from TKE. Chad married Gina Shanahan and they moved to California to begin their life journey side by side. For the past 18 years, Chad worked and was part of the Hayward Lumber family.

Chad loved golfing at local courses as well as planning weekend golf trips with friends and family. He was a dog lover, and he and Gina rescued numerous dogs that needed a loving home. Chad would happily spend an afternoon watching sports on TV while sharing the couch with multiple dogs.

Chad is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Gina Wolf; his parents, Ron and Pat Wolf; his three siblings, Cindy Wolf, Chris (Rebecca) Wolf and Connie (Dusky) Terry; his in-laws, Alice, Kirk, Sheila and Jeff Shanahan as well as many nieces and nephews.

During his illness Chad told his story to many people to encourage everyone to take preventive care by having a regular colonoscopy.
