Marie B. Franken, 82, of Sioux City died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at a Elk Grove, Ill. hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Gregory Hanneman officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Franken was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Sioux City, the daughter of Robert and Serine (Trang) Kvidahl. She attended Central High School. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City.

She married Henry "Hank" Franken on Sept. 14, 1957, in Sioux City. She was a stenographer for the Milwaukee Railroad for 36 years. Mr. Franken died May 13, 1996, in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister, Ruth Olsen of Schaumburg, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Reinert Kvidahl.

Pallbearers will be David O. Olsen, Donald O. Olsen, Douglas O. Olsen, David Hrdy, Reinert Kvidal and Glenn Olson,

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
