Elmyra F. Den Hartog, 90, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at the residence of her daughter.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Duane Queen of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake, Iowa, officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Geddes, S.D. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Den Hartog was born Jan. 14, 1914, in Geddes, the daughter of Frank and Ella (DeLong) Fox. She grew up in Geddes and graduated from Geddes High School in 1932. She later attended the General Motors Business School.

She married William "Bill" Van Gorkom on May 2, 1932, in Lake Andes, S.D. He died Oct. 17, 1983, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She married Arthur Den Hartog on July 18, 1986, in Brooten, Minn. He died April 23, 1997, in Belgrade, Minn.

She worked for Bruns Motors in George, Iowa, for several years. Then she moved to Sheldon, Iowa, where Bill ran a barber shop and she ran a snack shop. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Sheldon hospital.

She was a faithful church goer and did volunteer work for the nursing home in Belgrade, Minn. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Jon Wiley of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Billy and Paula Van Gorkom of Larchwood, Iowa; a sister, Alice Varuska of Worthington, Minn.; six grandchildren, Mark, Troy and Kandi and Nathaniel, Josh and Sarah; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, five sisters and two brothers.
