Robert D. Buresh, 73, of Sioux City died Thursday, December 30, 1999 at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Krishen Persaud of St. Luke Lutheran Church officiating. There will be a Masonic service along with the memorial service conducted by Morningside Lodge 615 A.F.& A.M. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Buresh was born January 20, 1926 in Sioux City, the son of James and Alice (Atkinson) Buresh. He graduated from East High School. He served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was employed as the superintendent of gas construction with Iowa Public Service.

He married Diane Pittenger on May 2, 1959 in Worthington, Minn.

He was a member of Morningside Lodge 615 A.F. & A.M. and the Hawkeye Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Andrew and Jan of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Julie Ellen and Glenn Beall of Scotland, S.D. two brothers and their wives, Tom and Bonnie of Fort Meyers, Florida and James F. and Doris of Marshalltown, Iowa, five grandchildren, Alexander Buresh, Laura, Amy Catherine and Elizabeth Beall; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Joshua Aaron Buresh.
