Mildred June Yellman, 86, of Sioux City died Saturday, January 1, 2000 at a Sioux City retirement home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sheryl K. Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Yellman was born June 17, 1913 in Sioux City, the daughter of Joseph and Mae (Anderson) Kelly. She lived in Washington, D.C. with her family until moving back to Sioux City. She graduated from East High School and attended Morningside College. She later attended the University of Maryland. She was employed with the Sioux City Tribune in the agriculture department and then with Valley State Bank.

She married Frank Yellman on June 12, 1943, in Camp Gruber, Okla.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Susan Selby of Plano, Texas; a son and his wife, John and Merietta of Plano; a sister, Fran Hinkley of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Kelly of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Brayden, Merissa and Rylan Yellman, Erin Kent and Emily Howell and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Walter Kelly.
