Robert “Bob” Cramer, 65, of Fairmont, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sunday morning, July 30, 2017, at his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Fairmont, with military rites following the service by the American Legion Lee C. Prentice Post 36 and the Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont. Condolences may be sent online to www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net.

Robert James Cramer was born on Oct. 18, 1951, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Robert James Sr. and Margaret (Kessler) Cramer. He received his education in Mason City, and in Hampton, Iowa. In 1969, Bob enlisted with the U.S. Army, where he served his country proudly earning his honorable discharge in 1971. Bob then went on to further his education, attending college at Western Iowa Tech Community College.

On June 30, 1973, Bob was united in marriage to Connie Schultzen. The couple made their home in Sioux City, Des Moines, and Cedar Rapids before making Fairmont their home in 1998. To this union three children were born, Stephanie, Michael, and Jason.

Bob worked in sales and was a sales manager for many years, working until his retirement in 2009.

In his spare time, Bob enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, feeding birds, and doing yard work. He loved cars and motorcycles and cherished quiet time spent sitting on his porch and listening to music. He treasured spending time with family and friends, especially time spent with his grandchildren. Bob was a proud member of AA for more than 37 years.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Connie Cramer of Fairmont; children, Stephanie Heckman of Fairmont, Michael Cramer of Fairmont, and Jason (Nicole Meier) Cramer of Fairmont; grandchildren, Tyler Heckman, Hannah Cramer, and Haylei Cramer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Danny (Connie) Schultzen of Moville, Iowa, Karen (Bryan) Reynolds of Sioux City, Beverly (Jim) Masters of Fromberg, Mont., Carol (Keith) Jensen of Billings, Mont., Terry (Patty) Schultzen of Moville, Jeanette (Larry) Lage of Whiting, Iowa, Brian (Ronette) Schultzen of Moville, Randy (Bev) Schultzen of Lawton, Iowa, Kelvin (Rose) Schultzen of Moville, Betty Farmer of Kingsley, Iowa, Susan (Heath) Naberhaus of South Sioux City, and Joni Heck of Sergeant Bluff; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. Sr. and Margaret Cramer; sister, Judy Cramer; grandson, Michael Joseph Cramer; in-laws, Stephen Schultzen, Walter Schultzen, and Alfred and Virginia Malcom; as well as many other extended family members.
