Mike Eugene Dawdy, 52, of Gardendale, formerly of Sioux City, lost his battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord and his loved ones on Aug. 8, 2017.
Services will be noon Saturday in Bible Baptist Church in Slaton, Texas, with Chris Downer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service.
Mike was born in Sioux City, on Aug. 20, 1964. He attended East High School. Mike called Bible Baptist Church his home church. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1988 to 1992. He moved to Texas after the Air Force and became a trucker in the oil industry. He drove a truck for Enlink Crude Oil.
He loved dogs and watching movies. He was an outstanding husband, brother, son and uncle.
He is survived by his wife, "Toddie" of Gardendale; his aunt, Beverly "Bam" Frazier of Slaton; his brothers, Ed and wife, Socorro Dawdy of Slaton, and John Dawdy of Gardendale; sister, Vicki Dawdy and his father, Edward Dawdy, both of Sioux City; as well as a niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Dawdy.
