Sloan, Iowa – Margie M. Lee, 87, of Sloan died Wednesday, January 26, 2000 at Elmwood Care Center in Onawa, Iowa.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Skien Lutheran Church in Albaton, Iowa, with the Rev. Barb Spaulding officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service of Onawa.

Mrs. Lee was born May 14, 1912, in rural Sloan, the daughter of Charles and Eva (Miller) Larson. She attended country school through the eighth grade and later received her General Education Diploma.

She married Merlin G. Lee on May 14, 1932, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple farmed in the Sloan area until retiring in 1977. He died September 5, 1990.

She was a member of Skien Lutheran Church and Evangelical Lutheran Church Women, where she served as financial secretary for many years.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Bonnie and Dick Stevenson of Onawa; a daughter-in-law, Caryl Lee of Salix, Iowa; five grandchildren, Diann Bohall, Dan and Bob Lee and Brad and Ben Stevenson; 11 great-grandchildren; tow sisters and their husbands, Faye and Leon Henkel of Whiting, Iowa, and Jean and Will Hathaway Jr. of Turin, Iowa, a sister-in-law, Eunice Larson of Onawa and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jim; two sisters, Marie Anderson and Ferne Sorenson, a brother, Bud Larson and infant sister, Lucille and an infant brother, Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Dan, Aaron and Bob Lee, Brad and Ben Sorenson and Mike Bohall.
