Michael Lee Greer, 61, of Sioux City, went home to be with our heavenly Father Sunday, July 16, 2017.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, South Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mike was born on Feb. 10, 1956, in Sioux City, the son of Henry Lee Greer Sr. and Helen (Williams) Greer. Mike grew up in Sioux City and graduated from West High School in 1974.

He married Mary Jane "Penny" Udell. She passed away in 2001. Mike married Lucy Jo Bauer in 2010 in Sioux City.

Mike served as a deacon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He loved singing in the choir and teaching the children in the Awana Program at Vacation Bible School. He was known by his Mt. Zion Church family as "Supernatural." Mike was proud to be a volunteer driver for the Road to Recovery Program at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center and he took every opportunity to talk about Jesus with the patients. Mike also enjoyed going to Four Seasons where he was known as "Alleluia Man."

Survivors include his wife, Lucy Jo Greer of Sioux City; five children, Angelo "Loki" Greer and his wife, Kasondra Renea of Clovis, Calif., Maria "Honey Pie" Greer and her husband, Jesse Maldonado of Clovis, Tyler "Pretty Boy" Greer and his wife, Elizabeth of Sioux City, Titus "Moo" Greer of Sioux City, and Austin "Baby Boy" Greer and his wife, Shaylee Cline of Sioux City; his parents, Henry and Helen Greer Sr. of Sioux City; three brothers, Christopher Greer and his wife, Julie of Rapid City, S.D., Henry Greer Jr. and his wife, Kimberly of Sioux City, Anthony Greer and his wife, Millie of Los Angeles, Calif.; and his grandchildren, Martisha, Adriana, D'Angelo, Lauryn, Sky, Austin, Tyler, Hayden, Dallas, Bella, August, Paislee and Lincoln on the way.

Mike was preceded in death by his first born son, Aaron Michael Richmond-Greer; his sister, Mora "Pat" Greer; and his grandson, Donavon Michael Maldonado.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to your favorite charity in Mike's name.
