David M. Hultquist, 62, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, while vacationing in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

David was born Nov. 14, 1942, in Rockford, Ill., the son of Roland and Hazel (Kelly) Hultquist.

He married Sandra K. Delaney on June 16, 1961, in Sioux City. He lived most of his life in Sioux City and South Sioux City. David worked for Warren Electric and then for Apar Brokerage for about 20 years. For 17 years, he worked for the Sioux City Public Schools as a school bus driver for special needs children, retiring in 2000.

He was a long-time member of Concordia Lutheran Church. David was an avid swimmer and enjoyed camping, traveling, old movies, old music and was a Husker fan. He especially loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of over 44 years, Sandra; three children and their spouses, Kelly and David Siefker, Julie and Curt Clayton and Tom and Buffy Hultquist, all of Sioux City; nine grandchildren, Becky Walters and husband, Jason, Michelle Siefker, Bryan Siefker, Katherine Clayton, Christopher Clayton, Elsie Hultquist, Kayla Hultquist, Nicholas Hultquist and Nathan Hultquist; a special cousin and his wife, Noel and Judy Hultquist of Salt Lake City; a sister and her husband, Debbie and Don Berke of Sioux City; and a half sister and her husband, Rolli Sue and Mike Sexton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
