Joanna Boyle, 92, of Sioux City died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at a local hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a vigil and rosary service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Joanna was born Oct. 21, 1912, in Hinton, Iowa, to William A. and Flora A. (Crouch) Reynolds. She grew up in rural Hinton, where she attended country school until high school. She then attended Cathedral, graduating in 1928. Joanna worked on her aunt and uncle's farm after graduation, where she met Albert Boyle.

Joanna and Albert Boyle were united in marriage on Oct. 20, 1938, in Sioux City. The couple lived in Sioux City until 1945 and began to farm in the Sioux City area. They retired from farming in 1977. They moved back to Sioux City, where Joanna had already been cleaning Home Federal Savings and Loan and continued to do so for 26 years. She retired in 1992 due to health conditions.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a greeter for many years.

Survivors include her children, Mary Lias and husband, Norman of Sioux City, Irene Collins and husband, Robert of Ankeny, Iowa, Pauline Andrews of Sioux City, Jacqueline Johnson and husband, Fred of Sioux City, William Boyle of Kalispell, Mont., Patrick Boyle and wife, Cheryl of Jackson, Neb. and John Boyle and wife, Betty of Pinedale, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Warren Reynolds of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert in 1986; a son; two grandchildren; four brothers; and a sister.
