Jon Caldwell Dannenberg, 62, of Anthon, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Cornerstone World Outreach, with the Rev. Larry Gordon officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Joe was born May 10, 1943, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Billie (Caldwell) Dannenberg. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1961. He continued his education at Morningside College, graduating in 1965.

He was united in marriage to Susan Jean Wyant on July 25, 1965, at Sioux City. Together they had two sons. Jon worked at McCracken Concrete Pipe Machinery Company, now known as Besser Iowa Operations, for 37 years, and was president for the last 20 years. Besser was part of Jon's family.

He enjoyed being outside working with his hands, golfing and fishing. Jon also enjoyed woodworking and NASCAR.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Dannenberg of Sioux City, and Todd and his wife, Melissa Dannenberg of Boise, Idaho; three grandchildren, Jaedyn Dannenberg of Sioux City, and Lauren and Blake Dannenberg, both of Boise; his mother, Billie Dannenberg of Spencer, Iowa; two sisters, Linda and her husband, Vern Wade of Tucson, Ariz., and Marilyn Rehnstrom of Spencer; and special friend, Jan Travis of Storm Lake.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Dannenberg.
