Olive M. Hoefer, 94, Sioux City, died Monday, October 21, 1996 at a Sioux City retirement home.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with the Rev. Doresa Collogan of First United Methodist Church officiating. The body was cremated and the ashes will be buried in Logan Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoefer was born October 2, 1902, in Morris, Illinois, the daughter of Edwin and Florence (Rose) Heacox. She came to Sioux City with her family as a child. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High School in 1920.

She was employed as a bookkeeper at First National Bank and Secretary at two insurance companies, retiring from Central Life Assurance Company in 1974.

Mrs. Hoefer was a member of First United Methodist Church and Chapter DH PEO.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Glen E. Hoefer and a sister.
