Arlene G. Petty, Sioux City, died Saturday, October 26, 1996, in Sioux City after a long illness.

A memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A Scriptural wake service will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Petty was born April 21, 1918 in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Hannah (Lund) Blum. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City.

She married Milton P. “Bud” Petty in 1937 in Elk Point, S.D. He died January 28, 1990, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Petty was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Milton P. Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann Petty of Sioux City and Robert and his wife, Patricia Petty of Sioux City; a daughter, Mary Julia and her husband, Wayne Kirkegaard of Lenexa, Kansas; two sisters, Catherine Miller of San Marcos, California and Margaret Henrich of Akron, Iowa; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Edwin and Emery Blum.

A memorial has been established in her name with Hospice of Siouxland.
