Alta C. Hodges, 83, Sioux City, died Tuesday, October 22, 1996, at her residence after an extended illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Hodges was born September 10, 1913, in Sergeant Bluff, the daughter of Elmer and Nancy (Lemming) Orr.

She married Kenneth L. Hodges Feb. 11, 1932, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1951. He died April 14, 1992 in Sioux City. She was employed at Zenith Corp. for 15 years, retiring in 1971.

Mrs. Hodges was a member of the Moose Auxiliary.

Survivors include four sons, Cecil and his wife, Nora Hodges of Tyler, Texas, Clarence and his wife, Shirley Hodges and George Hodges, all of Sioux City and Keith and his wife, Pat Hodges of Grand River, Iowa; three brothers, Harold and his wife, Virginia Orr of Seattle, Washington, Ward Orr of Sioux City and Russell Orr of Sergeant Bluff; three sisters, Dolly and her husband, Richard Hodges of Sioux City, Shirley Leedom of Dakota City and Edith and her husband, Ralph Mandicino of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Orr and Milton Brubaker; a sister, Ethel Fry and a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Hodges.
