Dolores M. Jacobsen, 74, of Sioux City, died Sunday at a local hospital following a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Paul-Louis Arts of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Christy Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jacobsen was born May 15, 1922, in Breda, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph W. and Elizabeth (Rettenmaier) Heisterkamp. She lived in Breda, Iowa, then lived in Mount Carmel, Iowa for several years before moving to Sioux City in 1951.

On November 27, 1954, she married Leon G. Jacobsen in Sioux City.

She sold Tri-Chem paints for many years and was an avid bingo player.

Mrs. Jacobsen was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Vickie Jacobsen, of Sioux City; three sons, Leon and his wife Melanie and Kirk, all of Sioux City and Soren of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Christopher, Larrisa, Kyle, Kayla and Kendall; two great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Mary Lou and Artie Schultz of Denham, Iowa and five brothers, Edgar of Breda, Norman and his wife, Alice, of Albert Lea, Minn., Lyle and his wife, Bernice, and Joseph, all of Carroll, Iowa, and James of San Francisco, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Judy.

Pallbearers will be Elgerd Arnett, Christopher Jacobsen, Randy Murkins, Aaron Sokolowski, Bob Johnson and Roger Rothwell.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
