H. Elaine Hunt, 73, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 6, 1996 at her resident.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Meyer Brother Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, with family present from 11 a.m. until service time, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hunt was born April 7, 1923 in Elk Point, in Elk Point, S.D., the daughter of Frank and Clara (Simons) Mackey. She graduated from Elk Point Hugh School. On June 28, 1947, she married Darrell J. Hunt in Elk Point. He died January 18, 1995 in Sioux City. She was employed as a supervisor for many years at Swift’s Poultry until its closing. She was then employed at SIMPCO until her retirement.

Survivors include two sons, Dorrance and his wife Jeanmarie of Sioux City and Gregory and his special friend Bambee Gorski of Houston, Texas, one daughter and her husband, Darla Jean and Theodore Frederick of Sioux City; one brother and his wife, Francis and Frances of LeMars, Iowa; three sisters, Margaret Fletcher of DesPlaines, Illinois, Ruth Ausmussen of Villa Park, Illinois, and Fern and her husband Bob Charbonneau of Elk Point, eight grandchildren, Darrell, Duaine, Michael, Jason, Tammi, Mark, Erica and Bobby and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Harold and one grandson, Todd.
