Frank R. (Sandy) Smith, 85, formerly of Sioux City died Tuesday at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

His body was donated to science.

Mr. Smith was born October 21, 1911 in Sioux City. He was an employee with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years.

Mr. Smith was a patriarch with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sioux City and Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife, Bernadine of Norwalk, Iowa; one son Robert W. of Sioux City’ one sister, Agnes Kile of Blue Springs, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Charles Roger.
