DeLoris L. Ellis, 79, of Plant City, Florida, formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, October 31, 1996, at her home in Plant City following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul-Louis Arts of Immaculate Conception officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. followed by recitation of the rosary at the Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Morningside Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ellis was born May 24, 1917, in Lynch, Nebraska, the daughter of Frank and Josefa (Soulek) Sedivy. On February 2, 1939, she married Gust Ellis in Sioux City. He died September 17, 1965 in Sioux City. She was a longtime Sioux City resident, employed at Iowa Beef Packing Company until retiring in 1979, she moved to Plant City last year.

Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Christine and Michael Keough of St. Augustine, Florida, Donna and Robert Markey of Plant City and Josephine and Richard Kimbler of Danville, W.Va.; one brother and his wife, Harold and Ruth “Boots” Sedivy of Summerville, S.C.; two sisters Rose Willson of Norfolk, Nebraska and Henrietta Rissman of Chicago, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her special friend, Dale Maxfield.
