I Wauneta Marino, 61, of Sioux City, died Friday, October 18, 1996 at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m., Monday at Nativity Catholic Church, with Monsignor Michael Sernett officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a 7 p.m. Scriptural wake service, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. There will also be visitation at the church one hour prior to service time.

Mrs. Marino. The former I. Wauneta Cooke, was born November 5, 1934, in Smithland, Iowa, the daughter of Ivan and Alma (Zortman) Cooke. She attended Smithland Consolidated School, graduating in 1953. She married Joe A. Marino on May 23, 1953, in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He died January 10, 1996, in Sioux City. Mrs. Marino lived in Sioux City most of her life and worked for the stockyards Bank, Armour & Co., and Interbake Foods.

Mrs. Marino was a member of Nativity Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lee Marino Gregory and her husband Donald of Boone, Iowa and Jolene Marino Krause of Cornelius, Ore.; a son, Martin of Rochester, Minn., two brothers, Leonard of Sioux City and Ronald of Maquoketa, Iowa; a sister, Margie Willson of Holstein, Iowa and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mildred McLarty and two brothers, Edward and Dale.

Pallbearers will be Brandon and Frank Marino, Chad Krause, Andrew Peterson, John Perez and Al Baker.

A memorial has been established in her name with the Queen of Peace Association.
