Joann was born on Aug. 12, 1927, in Lake Lillian, Minn., to Anton and Aleda (Florine) Holmberg. She grew up and graduated from high school in Wakefield, Neb., in 1945. Following high school, she attended one year of teaching school at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb.

He passed away in 2003. Joann married Joseph McGuill on June 6, 2009, in Sioux City. Joann was a homemaker, and employed throughout her life.

She was a very active member of Morningside Lutheran Church, member of the Red Hat Society, and the Senior Sioux's. She was always very active, adventurous, and on the go. Joann was somewhat of a daredevil, she had been skydiving, loved boating, played the drums when she was younger, and had also coached Little League teams. She enjoyed going for coffee with friends, but most importantly, Joann loved her family.

Survivors include her husband, Joe; her children, Joellen (Andy) Adams of Bloomington, Ill., Rick (Renee) Winegardner of Muldrow, Okla., and Mark (Hope) Winegardner of Norwalk, Iowa; Joe's children, J.J. McGuill of Sioux City and Julie (Brad) LeFebvere of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Justin, Josh, Thomas, and Jessica; great-granddaughters, Graceyn and Elliette; one great-grandson on the way; dear-to her-heart brother-in-law, Charlie (Connie) Winegardner; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Hanson and Margaret Curry; and many nieces and nephews.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ernest; second husband, Herbert; and sisters, Ruth, Marian, and Dorothy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
