SALIX, Iowa | Beverly A. (Castle) Kranz, 76, of Salix, entered into rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 19, 2017, at her residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Beverly "Bev" was born on July 14, 1940, in Sioux City, the daughter of Darrell and Vivian (Wilder) Castle. She lived most of her life in Sioux City and graduated from East High School.

She married Richard B. Kranz on Feb. 7, 1959 in Elk Point, S.D. They made their home in Sioux City until 1968, when they moved to Salix where they raised their six children. Bev was a waitress at Edith & Joe's and then at Pete & Joy's in Salix. She moved back to Sioux City in 1985 and worked at Target until her retirement in 2002.

She had been on a bowling league in Sergeant Bluff for a number of years. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, going to the casino, and traveling to visit with family.

Survivors include her children, Lavonne (Morgan) Ezell Jr. of Springfield, Mo., Robert of Sioux City, Dennis (Becky) of Rapid City, S.D., Susan (Paul) Iverson of Salix, Linda (Steve) Steele of Sioux City, and Kevin (Melissa) of Aurora, Mo.; special niece, Jennifer Quintanilla; sister, Bette Morgan of Mesa, Ariz.; brother, Bill of Sioux City; sister, Terri (Brad) Anderson of Sioux City; sisters-in-law, Jonna of Minnesota and Joann of Sioux City; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Diane Crossman.

Bev was well loved and will be missed by all that knew her.
